2020 Topps Transcendent Party Part 2
Early Saturday morning, we got the sunscreen out and packed our way out to Peoria. This was special, because it was our son's first Spring Training game. The Peoria Sports Complex is a beautiful stadium and lively surrounding area. The tickets are very affordable and the stadium is lovely. We absolutely love everything about the Mariners/Padres Spring Training home and will come back every chance we have.
The Athletics were the visiting team, and we got to see a bunch of the top prospects. Jesus Luzardo was pitching, and we had appearances from Julio Rodriguez and Austin Beck, among others. Baseball fans (of all teams) seem to band together well, and everyone was really just fantastic and very encouraging and accepting of our slightly fussy baby. We also got him a cute, but much too big spring training ballcap. Gotta start somewhere.
The Mariners didn't win. What's new. But the games were competitive and fun, and I really felt like there was maximal effort on both sides. It was great. We had to leave right before the end so that I could get back to the hotel to change and get ready for the Transcendent party.
