Allen & Ginter

One of Topps most successful revivals has been that of the old cigarette oddity cards, Allen & Ginter.  This has been emulated by Upper Deck with Goodwin, but that imitation pales in comparison to the quality and depth of Allen & Ginter.  While the A&G Autographs of baseball players often do quite well in the secondary market for veterans, the rookies do not carry the same value as comparable cards in Heritage, Topps Chrome, or Bowman.  One of the more interesting phenomenons of A&G is that they will include "World Champions" or at least "Unique People or Things" in their autograph and relic subsets.  This greatly appeals to me, as a collector of all things awesome, especially sports related, but often in neat non sports.  Allen & Ginter has provided an opportunity for the collector to get certified, beautiful on-card autographs of people like Sylvester Stallone, Kevin Costner, Roger Federer, Mike Tyson, and George W. Bush.

Here are a few of neat non-sport A&G Autographs, although Al Bundy would have you remember his prolific high school football exploits.  And Leigh "Jerry McGuire" Steinberg wants you to SHOW ME THE MONEY.  Allen & Ginter, you had me at hello.
