The Godfather of Marvel

Stan Lee.  Nothing evokes fervor comic comic fanboys more than the mention of the hero of the genre.  I won't go into a laundry list of all the characters he created or the amount of jobs he manufactured, but suffice it to say that the modern comic industry does owe a lot to the man.  When a comic creators passing is mourned by people in all walks of life, you know they have made an impact on the greater world.

A lot is made about Stan's later years, especially after the passing of his beloved, and questionable manipulation as to his image and even his DNA.  I remember some crazy story about them putting his blood into signatures so that it really was his DNA embedded into the ink.  Weird stuff.  It just made me feel bad for the man, especially since he really was dedicated to his wife and it seemed to take the wind out of his sails.

I just hope they can continue to have Stan make guest appearances in cameos in future Marvel movies to pay tribute to the man.  The best tribute is, however, that people continue to remember, recognize, and appreciate him.
