The Conundrum of Great Talent Without the Production Part 2

And the injuries kept piling up.  And the kept on mounting over the next three years.  Some legitimate things and some not so much.  A broken rib from a home massage?   What??  The talent was still there, and he could still show flashes of brilliance but the fear was gone.

He ended his 2018 season in a terrible slump with a batting average and OPS of a AAAA scrub as opposed to his previous Hall of Fame trajectory.  Flirting with the Mendoza Line would've been an improvement to his batting average.  Could this really be blamed on nagging injuries?

And suddenly he was hitting 7th in the lineup.  Behind a rookie.  A good rookie in Yordan Alvarez, but seriously?  There were still flashes, like his game winning walk-off home run in the ALCS, but he still batted below .200 in the playoffs.  His defense was still stellar, so I wasn't sure anything was physically wrong with him, but where was he at the plate?  I think he's been a good person for the team and for the Houston Astros and Houston community, but I can't help but wonder what is wrong with Carlos Correa.  It would be fantastic for baseball if he could turn it around.  We're all rooting for him!
