What makes a Rookie Card Special?

Why has there been an explosion of Topps Flagship parallels?  What is that RC logo on a card important?  Why did Yordan Alvarez get his "Rookie Card" designation in 2020, the same time that he got the Rookie Cup logo traditionally reserved for a player's second season?

I'm not exactly sure, but some RC's have really skyrocketed.  Flagship and chrome parallels especially, but some other ones aren't too far behind.  As far as design and aesthetics goes, especially considering their limited number, I really think that the Transcendent base cards are really something special.  I know a lot of people are high on Sapphire chrome parallels, but these are even less "pack inserted" than the Transcendent cards.  The old ones came from sets and the new ones came from online only sales.  Neither is really "Pack Pulled" but the transcendent cards are just gorgeous. They also feature more unique designs and artwork instead of parallel finishes and refractor colors.  Surely that has to stand for something.

They also come from a 25k-30k a box product.  Takes money to make money, as they say.

  1. I am a huge fan of Transcendent. It's just a shame I'll never buy a "box"
