Why Do Acetate Cards Look So Good? Part 2
I really especially dig the mini cards, which they have done with T206 throwbacks in addition to 1951 Bowman throwbacks. The real problem with mini autographs is that it's hard to get a clean autograph on a small card. But all the cards have on card autographs, which is an immeasurably huge bonus to me in this day and age of sticker autographs. Topps did a great job with the 2019 T206 throwbacks, but I think the 1951 game cards are a little busier and more cluttered. I noticed that Trout essentially signed over his face. Bummer.
It remains to be seen the collectability of the clearly authentic RC autograph. It's on card, and ostensibly a pseudo-parallel of the base autograph. Honestly, it's not much different than the Topps.com exclusives like the Sapphire parallel autograph or whatnot. My hunch is that they won't catch fire like those parallels, but will hold their own in a market oversaturated with stuff.
