Seattle Children's Hospital Part 1

Frequent blog readers may recall that my wife and I work in the medical field.  I have a particular preclusion to taking care of children, since that was one of my highest considerations that was largely nixed by circumstance (not wanting to relocate to a major population center / tertiary referral center).

in 2020, Topps teamed up with some Seattle athletes and celebrities, as well as the PR team and some patients at Seattle Children's Hospital to make a set to raise money for the hospital.  All of the proceeds of the sales of the cards went directly to the hospital.  No logos were used as there was no licensing involved.  The cards were sold exclusively at Bartell Drugs, a drugstore local to Western Washington.  And it arrived with fairly little hoopla.

But the cards are great.  The set is wonderful.  The athletes and celebrities that gathered to support the Children's Hospital are fantastic.  And the children that signed are awesome.  Did I mention that each set also came with a hard-signed autograph?  Some of these folks had signed a lot for many products, such as Russell Wilson and Jordan Morris.  Some of these folks are Seattle and Pop Culture icons who had never signed for anything ever before, such as Joel McHale, Macklemore, and Six Mix-A-Lot.  Yes, this baby does in fact have back.  And legs for days.
